Shared Feelings: Your Child Knows Everything You Feel
Your child knows everything you feel. The strongest emotional bond you will create in your life is what you develop with your baby while it is still in the womb.
Your child has the ability to appreciate, hear and feel the world around and can feel how you feel.
During pregnancy, your regular heartbeat will give your baby a sense of peace and security. If, on the other hand, you go through something unpleasant, and your heart beats faster, the child will immediately feel it.
Your child knows everything and knows when everything is okay out there, or if things are going wrong. There are some things you can only learn when you become a mother, and this is one of them.
When all goes well
A mother does more than just feed her child. She can also nourish the baby’s emotions.
In the placenta, children get more from their parents than just the food they need to live and grow. They also take in other substances that give them information about the world around them, whether they are negative or positive.
Let’s look at an example. A mother who is happy secretes endorphins. These hormones, which are associated with happy emotions, make you relaxed and are good for the fetus.
When a child hears the mother’s voice, it can feel the love she feels. It is therefore very important that you talk to your baby while it is still in the womb, and thus build your emotional bond.
The vibrations from a woman’s vocal cords, when slow and harmonious, give the baby a sense of peace and security.
The sound of a mother’s hand stroking her stomach and the hymns she hums help the baby feel safe and stable.
When you put these actions into practice during pregnancy, your fetus will develop in a calm environment.
When things go wrong
That said, your child knows everything you feel. This means that the child can also feel how you feel mentally.
Through the umbilical cord, the fetus receives neurotransmitters and hormones that affect it in a similar way as the mother.
When the mother feels stressed, her cortisol levels increase. Elevated levels of this stress hormone in the blood reach the placenta and thus also the fetus. The child knows immediately that the mother is upset and becomes stressed.
If you are worried, nervous or scared, or if you are crying and suffering, your child will know.
Your child knows everything through your emotional bond
It is the responsibility of every mother to protect her child.
Pregnant mothers should avoid anything that could harm the baby’s future emotional development and physical well-being.
Because a fetus can perceive what the mother is thinking, you should try to think positive and happy thoughts.
Try to stay away from unpleasant news, movies about things that make you uncomfortable, stressful situations and confrontations with people around you.
Fill your head with good memories and happy pictures and your life with smiling people. Your child will receive all the happiness and peace that these positive impressions give you.
Seek out harmonious environments, laugh, live and love with the same intensity all the time. Listen to music you like. It is just as important that you take your vitamins, control your weight and blood pressure, and that you go to the midwife regularly.
Taking care of your physical and mental health is part of taking care of your child.
